Project Background
A 600-bed regional general hospital in Southeast Asia was undergoing a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade to meet JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation standards. The facility's existing door systems were identified as critical failure points: conventional swing doors in operating theatres created air pressure fluctuations that compromised sterile environments, while the lack of proper hermetic sealing in ICU areas posed infection-control risks. The hospital's engineering team issued an international tender for a complete door replacement solution covering operating rooms, ICU wards, clean corridors, and the central pharmacy.

Challenges & Requirements
The procurement committee defined strict technical and operational requirements:

Oredy's Solution
Oredy supplied 68 sets of the ORD-260 hermetic sliding door system, customized for each application zone within the hospital. The door frames were fabricated from 304 stainless steel with a brushed finish, and the sealing mechanism utilized a four-sided inflatable gasket system that activates automatically upon full door closure, achieving a consistent airtight seal. Each unit was equipped with Oredy's proprietary dual-radar sensor module, enabling hands-free, contactless activation with a 0.3-second response time. Door leaf widths ranged from 1,000 mm to 1,400 mm to accommodate medical trolleys and equipment passage. Integration with the hospital's BMS (Building Management System) and fire alarm panel was completed by Oredy's certified installation team on-site.

Results & Client Feedback
Post-installation testing confirmed airtight performance exceeding the specified 25 Pa differential across all 68 units. The hospital's infection control department reported a measurable reduction in cross-contamination incidents within the first quarter of operation. The facility's facilities manager noted that maintenance requirements were minimal, with zero system failures reported in the first six months. The project was delivered on schedule within the hospital's 14-week renovation window. Following the successful deployment, the hospital group has initiated discussions for a further 40-unit installation at its second campus.
